About us
About Hope of Dream
Hope of Dream supports children's healthcare and education in Sakina and the wider Arusha area, funded by responsible tourism.
Our story
Tourism that gives something back
Every year, visitors pass through Arusha on their way to the Serengeti, Ngorongoro and Kilimanjaro. Hope of Dream exists so that some of the value of those journeys stays with the children who live here.
We operate under Lappet Faced Safaris, a safari company based in Arusha. Lappet Faced Safaris has committed to give 10% of every package it sells to local communities, and that support is directed to children's healthcare and education.
Our mission
Healthy children, in school
To help make sure that Tanzania's tourism industry benefits the children of the communities that make Tanzania such a special place to visit, starting with their health and their education.
Where we work
Sakina, Arusha
We are based in Sakina, on the western side of Arusha in northern Tanzania. Arusha sits below Mount Meru and is the gateway to the country's best-known national parks. We work locally, where we can see what is needed and follow up on the support we give.
How we work
Our commitments
-
Children first
We never publish a photo of a child without consent, and we never pair a child’s name with their home or school.
-
Honest reporting
We only publish results we can check, with a source and a date.
-
Local focus
We work in and around Arusha, close enough to follow up on every commitment.
Every child deserves a healthy start and a place in school.
Whether you give, volunteer, partner with us or travel with purpose, you can help.
